The BKA implemented the Medication Assistance Program in September 2022 to assist patients diagnosed with kidney disease with the cost of medication.
You can receive Nephro-vite, Alfacalcidol & Tums depending on your need?
Nephro-vite is a multivitamin specifically designed to supplement the vitamins that persons with CKD may not be getting enough of.
Please speak to your healthcare provider regarding the use of this medication.
Alfacalcidol is a synthetic form of vitamin D that is used to treat various conditions related to calcium and phosphate regulation in the body. Alfacalcidol works by increasing the absorption of calcium and phosphate from the intestines and promoting their incorporation into bones, thus aiding in bone health and mineral balance.
Please speak to your healthcare provider regarding the use of this medication.
Calcium carbonate in Tums can act as a phosphate binder, binding to dietary phosphate in the gut and reducing its absorption into the bloodstream. By lowering phosphate levels, it helps in managing complications associated with high phosphate levels in CKD patients, such as bone problems.
Please speak to your healthcare provider regarding the use of this medication.
